IN SAAC Spring Fling
Wed, 05/14/2008 - 19:46
KyTaxi Some of us are leaving tomorrow, Thursday, and some on Friday.
Bea and I will be at the Lodge and we will be on Friday's Pony ride. If you are going to attend, please let me know by phone or post here.
If anyone from Louisville is going, perhaps the club banner could be brought along. We could bungee it to some quik lifts as opposed to bringing the uprights.
It might be a bit damp, but it looks like Friday will be fine and Saturday may improve.

Superb
Bea and I rolled in Thursday afternoon with trailer in tow. Heavy rain going up through Indiana but not too bad at Brown County State Park. I promptly parked the trailer in a place where the car could not possilby be extracted. A few small trees, a flat trailer tire and a few other territorial markings and life was good again. The weekend was largely dry and sunny and warm.
The event was nicely organized. Original cobras (one 289 and one 427) were there along with a number of KCC members (Jerry and Diane Joyner, Dave and Becky Fister, Terry and Julie Riebel). Tom Hoppenjohns (not sure on spelling) came in Friday and there were some non-KCC Factory Five cars there from Indiana.
We met people from everywhere, even Peoria. They were univerally warm and friendly. We did a Pony ride down to Salem Indiana on Friday and the Mayor had the center of town turned over to the Spring Fling members. Good weather and good food.
Cobras got attention, but there were a number Ford GTs and Panteras and tons of Mustangs of all vintages. And Sunbeam Tigers and TVRs and more than you can imagine.
